Some highlights:
- 2009 – Online education sector grew 13% last year and had been growing at about 20% in previous years.
- Two-year associate’s institutions have the highest growth rates.
- In 2008, the 12.9 percent growth rate for online enrollments far exceeds the 1.2 percent growth of the overall higher education student population.
- Two million students, most older than the traditional 18-22 year-old undergraduates, take all their courses online and two million more take one or more online course.
