Florida Realtors Set to Give Away $28,000 in College Scholarships

Florida high school seniors looking for college scholarships just received a bit of good news with the recent announcement that Florida Realtors is set to give away $28,000 in college scholarships with their 2010-2011 Scholarship Essay Contest.  Each entrant has a chance to win up to $6,000 in scholarship funding through this new program.

To enter the scholarship giveaway contest students need to write a 500 word, or less, essay on the topic, “How does a realtor professional benefit the community?”  Students are free to write about a wide variety of realtor professionals that work in various fields such as residential brokerage, commercial brokerage, property management, etc.

Entering its 11th year, these Florida Realtors scholarships offer a great opportunity for area students to better their lives through a college education.  Florida Realtors is invested in providing a better future for the children of the area and strives to do so through promoting a good college education.  The money awarded through these scholarships will help several students realize their dream of earning a college education.

In all 13 students will benefit from the Florida Realtors scholarship program, one from each school district in the state of Florida.  Each of these district winners will receive a $1,000 college scholarship.  From these 13 district winners, three students will be chosen to receive an additional $5,000 in scholarships a piece bringing the overall total of the Florida Realtors scholarship program to $28,000.

In order to be eligible for this scholarship competition all essays must have an official Essay Cover Form and be postmarked before or on February 9th 2011.  High school students should be able to pick up an application kit and essay cover from their high school guidance counselor or via the Florida Realtors’ Media Center website: http://media.floridarealtors.org
