The CHS Foundation recently announced it is now accepting applications from high school and two-year college students interested in receiving one of its $1,000 college scholarships. The CHS Foundation is the major giving entity of CHS, Inc., the United State’s leading farmer-owned cooperative. The foundation is planning on awarding fifty scholarships valued at $1,000 each to students planning to study an agricultural field at a two- or four-year college. In addition to these fifty scholarships, the CHS Foundation will award twenty five $1,000 two-year college scholarships to first-year agricultural students attending a two-year college.
For years, the CHS Foundation has been committed to helping create a strong future for rural America. This recent round of college scholarships will surely help many students reach their goal of starting a career within the agricultural industry. The deadline for students to submit an application is April 1, 2012. Scholarship winners will be selected by an independent, external committee based on essays, transcripts and reference letters submitted by the applicants. To learn more about eligibility requirements and to find an application form, students are encouraged to visit the University Partnership section of the CHS website here: http://www.chsfoundation.org/upartnerships.html.
In addition to the scholarships listed above, the CHS Foundation also offers four-year university scholarships for student currently working toward an agricultural related degree. Deadlines for these scholarships vary depending on the participating university.
